Episkepsis: is a large and maybe the oldest village in Corfu which is well preserved. On the last Sunday before Lent, in the square of Agios Vasileios (Saint Basil) the village priest leads off a dance. The men of the village follow in a specific succession. The dance is without instruments. At the end of the dance, old women with musical instruments begin playing, and then continue dancing the traditional circular dance of Corfu.
