Nimfes: it is a large village with around 800 inhabitants. It is 200 metres above sea level.and in ancient times was called Neraidohori ("Place of the Nereids"). It is located close to running water and rich vegetation. According to mythology, the Nymphs (some kind of sprites) used to bathe in nearby waterfalls. There is a Church of Agios Konstantinos (Saint Constantine) which was built on ruins of a temple dedicated to Apollo. |
