Marathias: it is 5 km from Arirades. The inhabitants of Old Marathias built this village at the start of this century. In 1816 the area suffered a plague epidemic and many houses were burned down as an order from the governor to get rid of the pestilence. Thus, the village of Roumanades was destroyed completely and in Old Marathias a few houses remained. So the people abandoned Old Marathias and built the village that exists today.
