This full-day sightseeing excursion takes you to the most beautiful and renowned spots of Corfu island. You’ll visit Kanoni Achilion Palace and Paleokastritsa in a comfort air conditioned bus.
Your tour begins from Kalami to Corfu town and makes its first stop at Kanoni, which is one of the most popular spot to enjoy the panoramic view over Mouse Island and the Vlacherna convent. The next stop will be Achilion Palace. Admire its majestic rooms and statues and solve the mystery of why the creator of Achillion’s beautiful painting committed suicide after he saw it finished. Achillion is a neo-classical style villa in the architectural style of Pompeii, although it includes elements of the Ionic, Roman and Aeolic traditions and has parallels to their imperial residence in Crimea. The name “Achillion” was given by the Empress Elisabeth of Austria to honor Homer’s hero Achilles and in the garden, you can find the famous “Dying Achilles” statue. Hop back into the vehicle and travel through some of the island’s traditional villages to reach Paleokastritsa, one of the most beautiful places in the world. Paleokastritsa has long been considered one of the most beautiful villages in Corfu and it is a renowned Greek beauty spot.
A complex of bays, sandy beaches, jagged rocks dropping into deep blue waters topped with lush green forests sets the backdrop to what has become a favorite tourist destination.
A visit to the monastery of Theotokos at the top of Paleokastritsa is a must, even if you are not such a fan of visiting churches. A short footpath taking you to the top of the hill will reward you with one of the best views of the area.
The final stop on the bus tour is at Bella Vista for taking some great photos of the amazing views before you will take the way back to Kalami.
