The excursion to Mountain Pantokrator is a real journey to the old Corfiot tradition and combines breathtaking views and historical parts of the island. It is the highest spot of the island ( 906 meters ) and offers an extraordinary panorama as far as Albania , Greek Mainland and whole Corfu .
At this very top of the island you can visit the old monastery of Pantokrator which was first built in 1347 and the works were completed in 1689. The monastery's frescoes are works of the 14nth and 15nth century and the same goes for some of its Byzantine religious icons.
On the way to the mountain the visitor will be fascinated by the very old traditional villages, with their houses that remind old times, most of them made of grey stone, all of them of unique beauty. At the village STRINILLAS you will have the chance to enjoy a traditional Corfiot meal and drink the excellent locally made wine, produced with the old traditional way. It is a journey to treasure.
