Lawrence Durrel, the famous novelist and poet, lived at the very well known "WhiteHouse", in Kalami bay and wrote his famous novel "Prospero's cell" Durrel lived here from 1935 to 1939. At the last summer of his staying his guest was Henry Miller, another great author.
"WhiteHouse" is a two storied house on a rocky promontory at the very end of Kalami bay and has a strong architectural character, which brings us back to the years before the 2nd world war.
