For the 4 th continuing year and with the support of the Kassopean municipality VARKAROLA, Kalami's major summer sea festival, took place again in a very successful way.
|

|
This time we had a major sponsor, who happens to be a very important personality, internationally. Lord Rothchild has helped a great deal and also the great and enthusiastic participation of all the local businessmen, gave to the festival the importance of a custom with major acceptance. |

The APOLLON Chorus from inside of a beautiful traditional caic sang the traditional sea songs, which came to us by our ancestors, all hard working men of the sea but with hearts fulfilled with sentiments |
|
|
This year the audience had the opportunity to watch a picturesque petite convoy of three boats, following the main caic. This was a representation of the old way of fishing in Kalami, the so called “gree-gree”. |

The fireworks at the end of the event coloured the festival with joy and gave to the sentimental and dreamy VARKAROLA an touch of celebrating feeling. |
